The old man in the image is a common Chinese who is riding a Pedi cab on a common hot day in summer. The sun made him exude sweat. Actually he is 93-year-old already. However, he is still working instead of enjoying a dignified retirement. The reason why he earns money by riding a pedicab is that he wants to support more poor students to accomplish their dream of going to college. In fact, he belongs to the lower class in society which has low income and people show little respect to people in this class. I think this image shows the political and culture fact in China.
In the aspect of culture, this old man promotes the traditional virtues in China that he sought no rewards to help other people, making contributions to society. In general, the person who scarifies himself/herself for helping others is well worth respecting and admiring. More specifically, this old man leads his life, pinching and scraping and keeps working until last moment of his life. But he lives like a beggar even though he has earned lots of money, up to 350 thousand RMB, which it needs a lower class person to work 20 years without paying any living expenses. Actually, he donates all his money to 300 students who cannot afford their tuition fees.

The Chinese government always claims that the social security system in China can ensure basic living conditions of people in low class. In fact, the amount of fund given to those people does not keep in step with the development of society. What’s more, the government doesn’t appropriate enough funds for education as well. Therefore, many students cannot continue their further education after graduating from middle school. Many kind people who have the ability to stretch their support hand to the poor students. I agree with what you have to say about how the Chinese government needs to increase education funds and enhance the social security system. However other factors should be considered, such as the high population. This situation is difficult to address because the government might not be able to fully sustain such a huge population.
