In th 14th chapter, the Pope talks about the birth control. He claimed,"Therefore We base Our words on the first principles of a human and Christian doctrine of marriage when We are obliged once more to declare that the direct interruption of the generative process already begun and, above all, all direct abortion, even for therapeutic reasons, are to be absolutely excluded as lawful means of regulating the number of children." By saying this, the Pope wanted to say that any method of controling birth is illegal. But I don't think he's right. There is legal method to control birth in China, now.The boy in the picture is my nephew. This photo was taken in this summer. He should be much bigger now. He's the second children of my brother. Due to his birth, my brother should pay about 20,000 Chinese Yuan as a fine. However, when my sister-in-law got pregant, everyone in my family encourage her to keep this child though we should pay a high amount fine. It may sounds strange to American, but this is a common sense in China. A couple is only allowed to have one child legeally. That is, the "2 child law". This policy aims to reduce the birth rate and finally reduce the population. In fact, I strongly agree with this policy. It's hard for a country to be strong if there are 1.4 billion people. What's even worse is that most land of China are moutains and hills. There are only a few fields for agriculture production. The situation forced China government to make such a policy to control the increasing speed of population. However, not everyone agree with this policy. In Chinese tradition, the more children you have, the more happiness you will get. So many people have two or more children even they should pay the fine, such as my brother and sister-in-law. Actually, I love kids and want to have at least two children, too. But I know that we should do some sacrifice for the future of our motherland. So maybe I will only have one child in my life. But, I just can say "maybe".
As a Chinese,I will say,that's true. But there is another problem in China, especiall in some developed cities, such as Hongkong and Shanghai, that more and more young ladies don't want to give birth to a baby, they even don't want to get married. We all know that males are much more than females in China. That means there will be lots of males have single life in the future. You said that you wanna have two children in the future, I hope your wife will be willing to give birth to them.
